On July 22, 2016 a fire broke out near Sand Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, California. The mixture of record breaking drought and temperatures nearing 110 degrees led to a state of emergency as over 41,000 acres would burn before the fire was fully contained.
Flames destroyed the back nine at Robinson Ranch Golf Club. The staff was evacuated and unable to access the property for days.
